Changes made:
9-22-08 Took out the Fighting skill and archery skill. Rearranged the mage skill.

9-24-08 Took out all the fighting, archery, and mage skills. Added a good amount to the mining and woodcutting skill.

9-26-08 Everything was removed, I said if you had anything to say to me, then message me. So until some people can learn that, I am keeping the information until further notice.

Despite obviously being a carbon copy of RuneScape's system it actually holds some merit. If you check some of the other threads you'll notice that the attribute system eliminated the strength, attack, defense, and health system. A fair amount of the other skills you mentioned are common in RPG's so they were already planned for.

What about it? I don't plan on implementing that if that's what you're asking.

The difference is though Garth, is that I have other ideas for the skills. They may be the same exact skills, but I can promise you, the stuff you can do with them will not be like runescape.

Elminating the combat and stuff does sound right because of the attribute system. But why not make a mage skill? I can't tell you how many people are always asking that and are always interested.

Another thing, I asked my friends on runescape why they liked the game so much. The first choice of pick was Skills. They said that because of the wide varity of skills, they were always busy. Next was how big runescape was, not in people but the size of the whole area. It really gave them the chance to explore (on land) while going through dangerous dungeons. I probably died over 100 times going into dungeons that I had never been to. But that was the excitement it gave me. Not knowing what to expect then something happening is the joy sometimes.

Like I said, I have other ideas for the skills. Some of the things may be common, but others will blow your mind away.

See, the thing is I have about 50 possible skills planned. So number of skills isn't really an issue at this point, it's more like quality of content.

On another note I don't plan on having a mage skill. Just like the physical combat attribute system there will be specific things implemented for mages that will give them bonuses.

Send me the skills you have. I can create stuff (literally create) for the skill itself.

Some of it will have the basic ideas that most RPG games have. But for the others I can create made up ideas that were based in the medival times.

So, you mean you can go, log into Runescape, see how they do their skills of such types and *create* out of thin air completely *original* ideas that are definitely *not* based on (read: stolen from) Runescape. Yes?

Yeah, we were having a lot of fun with Rebels ideas, ask him about them some time. They're *marvelous*

Well, I'll listen to (read?) any ideas you may have, but I may not implement them depending on how I feel about them. In this case the skills mentioned were too similar to RuneScape's current skills. That doesn't mean I won't implement skills that are similar to RuneScape's, but at this point I don't really feel like looking like I'm copying stuff off of them. Even if the suggested skills weren't copied off of RuneScape, they show a very close similarity which is why I'm not going to use them.
