Well, first of all that was the wrong place to suggest a change. Second, you can set that preference for yourself. Personally I like it the way it is so I have no intention of switching it for the entire board, but feel free to set your personal display to anything you want.

Curses, they will be allowed to post without reading the entire topic, or at least scrolling down to the bottom of the page...

I see no reason to remove it. If they don't read the topic it's their fault and the post gets removed. Otherwise it can be handy to be able to see the most recent posts first so you don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom on a topic you already know about.
